Lighthouse

This lighthouse sits on the Outerbanks of NC, showing the way to sailors far and wide.. I shot this in color but later decided that this particular composition looks so much better in B/w – showing the beautiful clear skies with little bit of clouds and the lighthouse in the distance..   [Shot at Outerbanks,...

Looking up

We always look ahead and behind when out and about.. Here’s a different perspective encouraging one to look up and reach for the skies.. I took this picture using my 18-55 mm standard lens.   [Shot somewhere in Upstate,...

Mountains and Lakes

Driving through the catskill mountains in NY we came across this little stream that seemed to run through some mountains far away…The calm waters immediately bring a sense of serenity to the fast lives that we’re living today…   [Shot in the Catskills,...

Missing the Beach..

Its the middle of January and I am very much missing the beach… As I prepare in my head and wish for the summer to arrive soon, here is a shot of a beach umbrella… The peace, calm of the ocean and sunny skies is what I hope for soon! I edited the picture to make the umbrella stand out inviting one and all to the sandy, sunny locales.. [Shot at Seaside Heights,...

Backyards and sunsets

I am drawn to sunsets.. Surely that can be guessed by the numerous sunset pictures seen here so far… They have such an amazing inviting color that they add to the sky! This one though, is one where the sky is not even pictured… Go figure for a sunset themed picture!! I caught this one evening in my own backyard with the sun peeping through the woods… I just had to run in and grab my camera to click it with such great results as this one!   [Shot at Home]...

More Beaches

Since it is the season of the beaches, I dug up this old image from a trip to Hawaii… Serene and peaceful times are often recalled when we see old pictures..  Re-living the trip, I  think that this was just a random shot that I took during a ride along the Kauai coast line..   [Shot at Kauai,...

Windsurfing on NJ

Visiting the Jersey shoreline is the best thing to do, come Summer-time!  I happened to be at the Bay-side where the wind was blowing on a clear blue day, and the windsurfers were out and about… And these folks were surfing in speed! Truly exhilarating to see… I framed the first shot with my 300 mm lens with these specs:  f 7.1, ISO 100 @200 mm.   ————————— The second shot is a close-up of another surfer who was gliding away from the shore with grace and speed, both! Shot this also at f7.1, ISO 100   [Shot at Sandy Hook Beach,...

More Sunsets

It is turning out that Sunsets are one of my most favorite things to photograph lately… North Carolina’s Outerbanks gave yet me another chance to engage in this favorite type of picture…. I literally pulled over on the side of the road as soon as I could, when I saw this ball of gold and took a walk for a quarter of a mile backwards to compose this perfection…! [Outerbanks,...
